The Scorecard Assessment is a unique program designed to give your home an energy star rating out of 10 on your home; similar to the star rating you see every day on appliances such as fridges, dryers and washing machines. A star rating closer to 10 means your home will use less energy, and cost less to run, than one with a lower star rating. The Victorian Government has applied strict quality control standards which assessors must meet to be accredited. Only accredited assessors can provide Scorecard assessments, costs vary between $330-$550 depending on the size of the house.
Currently, the average Victorian home is three-star rated. There are often cheap and simple ways to reduce your energy usage and increase your home’s rating and your comfort.
You may benefit from a Scorecard assessment if:
- You are buying a home, selling a home or renovating.
- You are worried about your energy bills.
- Your house gets too hot in Summer or too cold in Winter.
